A private one-on-one working session with Ashleigh Day, CPA

One business decision is stuck because the numbers will not give you a straight answer.

Bring the hiring, owner-pay, pricing, cash, or runway question. In 60 minutes, we pressure-test the assumptions and map your next three moves. Your written Decision Brief arrives within 48 hours.

Straight talk first

This is not a disguised sales call.

You are paying for a useful answer and a written next-step plan, whether or not we ever work together again.

It is also not an audit, bookkeeping cleanup, tax return, valuation, investment recommendation, or promise that a risky decision becomes safe. The job is to make the trade-offs visible enough for you to decide.

The moment before the call

The reports exist. The answer keeps moving.

Owners usually arrive with a specific decision and several reports that almost answer it.

The P&L says we made money. Why does cash still feel tight?
I can probably afford the hire. Probably is doing too much work in that sentence.
The books are technically done, but I rebuild the answer in a spreadsheet every month.
I need to know what I can safely pay myself without creating a problem six weeks from now.
There are three reports and no clear answer to the decision in front of me.

What you actually get

The useful work starts before the video call and continues after it.

  1. 01

    Before

Your decision and context, read beforehand.

You complete a focused intake. I review the question, available reports, assumptions, and the places you do not trust so the call does not begin with a 30-minute recap.

  2. 02

    During

    A private 60-minute working session.

We separate facts from assumptions, test the base case and an uncomfortable case, and identify what must be true before the business moves.

  3. 03

    Within 48 hours

    Your written Decision Brief.

You receive the decision, relevant numbers, assumptions, risks, and three prioritized next moves in plain English. It is yours to keep and use.

  4. 04

    For seven days

    Direct email follow-up.

Questions often appear when a plan meets the actual week. You can email follow-up questions related to the session for seven days.

Bring one consequential question

The session works best when the decision has a verb.

Hire. Pay. Price. Expand. Wait. Repair. The narrower the decision, the more useful the brief can be.

  • Hire an employee or use a contractor
  • Set a sustainable owner-pay or distribution policy
  • Understand why profit and cash are moving differently
  • Decide whether pricing supports the work being sold
  • Set a cash threshold before expanding
  • Choose the first repair in an unreliable accounting process

Fit-before-fee promise

I will not force a session around the wrong problem.

If the intake shows that the question cannot be responsibly addressed in this format, I will tell you before we meet and return the session fee. You will receive the reason and a more appropriate next step when I can identify one.

Ashleigh Day

Who is on the other side

I have spent seventeen years turning financial detail into operating decisions.

I am a Washington-licensed CPA and former controller and treasury manager for roughly $3 billion of real estate across 60+ entities. My work covered cash, debt, tax coordination, multi-entity reporting, and the monthly close behind all of it.

Breaking Free brings that same discipline to owner-led businesses without the conference-room theater. Useful numbers, direct language, and a decision that can move.

This is for you if

  • You own or run an established business and have one live financial decision.
  • The books exist, but the answer still depends on manual translation.
  • You want assumptions challenged, not merely validated.
  • You want a useful standalone answer before considering implementation help.

This is not for you if

  • You need tax preparation, an audit, assurance, legal advice, or investment recommendations.
  • You need a complete accounting cleanup compressed into one hour.
  • You want a guarantee that a particular business decision will succeed.
  • You are seeking personal financial planning rather than a business operating decision.

What may be going through your head

Questions before paying for one decision.

What if my books are messy?
You do not need to clean them first. The intake identifies what is available and what is unreliable. If the mess prevents a responsible answer, I will say so before the session.
Do I need to share sensitive documents?
Not by ordinary email. We begin with the decision and a short intake. Any documents needed for the work are handled through an agreed secure method.
What if the answer is that I need more work?
The Decision Brief will separate the immediate decision from the system repair. You can implement it yourself, take it to your existing team, or discuss a Reset. The choice remains yours.
Why not use the free fit call?
A fit call determines whether a larger engagement makes sense. It does not include analysis or a written deliverable. The Clarity Session is paid work designed to stand on its own.
How does the Reset credit work?
If you begin a Financial Back Office Reset within 30 days, the full $495 session fee is applied to that engagement.
